What Is Odoo Manufacturing?

Odoo Manufacturing (MRP) connects products, bills of materials, and manufacturing orders to inventory and purchasing so you build from real demand and component availability — not parallel spreadsheets.

Do I need Odoo Manufacturing for kitting?

Simple kit BoMs that only consume components into a finished product can run with Manufacturing enabled. If you need no component traceability and only sell pre-built kits, evaluate whether inventory and phantom BoMs are enough before adding shop-floor complexity.

How is this different from Odoo Inventory?

Inventory tracks quantities and moves. Manufacturing adds BoMs, MO execution, component reservation, production postings, and optional routings. You need both for build operations.

Can Odoo handle subcontracting?
