What it does

Install safely, configure policy, then go live
Five steps from Apps Store install to talking to your ERP from an AI assistant.

Install — leave the master switch off
Install from the Odoo Apps Store. The endpoint stays disabled until you decide to go live.

Enable models and operations
Tick the models and CRUD operations you want. Exclude sensitive fields. List workflow methods if the assistant must confirm or cancel documents.

Optional record fences and caps
Limit records (for example only the user’s customers) and set per-operation caps.

Connect AI Assistant
Mint a key for the Odoo user the assistant should impersonate, then copy the client snippet.

Turn on and test
Enable the master switch. Run Test MCP Connection (read-only). Then talk to your ERP from the assistant.

Does it work on Community and Enterprise?
Yes. The MCP Server app is available for both Community and Enterprise on Odoo 17, 18, and 19.
Is the endpoint open right after install?
No. The master switch is off by default. You enable models, mint keys, test read-only, then turn the switch on.
How is security enforced?
Calls run as the API-key user under Odoo ACLs, record rules, and company fences. Policy can only narrow access — it never elevates privileges.
Which AI clients are supported?
Any MCP-compatible client that can call Streamable HTTP with a Bearer key — including Cursor, Claude, VS Code / Copilot, Windsurf, Gemini, n8n, Copilot Studio, and more. Ready-to-copy snippets ship in the Connect AI Assistant wizard.
